Fassa S.r.l.

Fassa Bortolo is a historic name in the world of building, Italian leader and one of the world’s best known companies. Care paid to quality and raw materials, research, innovation and the environment have always been the basis of the company’s vision, expressed through a constant commitment to develop advanced solutions that meet a variety of needs: from the construction of new works, structural renovation and reinforcement to energy saving and the new frontiers of bio-architecture.

The continuous pursuit of quality products prompted Fassa Bortolo to acquire, in 2009, a crushing and grinding plant at the Botticino marble deposit (Brescia), where the limestone rock from ornamental stone quarries has a very high calcium carbonate content. The plant can produce aerated, micronised and granulated calcium carbonate, limestone pieces, limestone for agglomerates and stones. This material is constantly monitored both chemically and regarding its grading, and is used in Fassa premixed lime and plaster plants to produce various different building products and to supply other industrial sectors, such as the agri-food sector, animal husbandry, glassworks, paintworks, paper mills, chemical sector, ecological sector and many others.

In 2016, the Botticino site was awarded internationally-recognised GMP+ certification, a standard that applies to the production, transport and marketing of animal feeds and allows the adoption of a control system for production, traceability and product handling as well as demonstrating effective use of resources, in terms of waste and product recalls, and the reduced need for audits by customers.

The plant has also achieved the following certifications: ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018
